Kaos Joker's Adventure on: World of Guns: Gun Disassembly

This is more of a free to play simulator then a game really. You have to take a gun apart in the correct order and then put it back together again. Its a strange but very unique idea for a game. I love it personally as its fun and interesting to find out how each gun works.

There is a large selection of weapons to take apart and each has small mini-games to play. Doing these earns you experience which can be used to buy the next weapon you can take apart.

20CB03EE7518B729F35C61587E34235EF8C8B67F (1768×970)

There are things like:
  • Time trials to take apart and put the gun back together.
  • Shooting range to test your accuracy with each weapon.
  • An incite into what customization you can do to the weapon.
7D6811C471D42CE2FC7BDF228FBD86E9FBC0471A (1768×970)

You can use x-ray mode and cut away mode to see the guns insides working during the firing of the gun.

There are add-on packs you can buy to deconstruct skeletons, cars, bikes, tanks and lots more. The thing that bugs me is that to unlock the next thing, you have to work really hard. You can buy the whole game if you want which unlocks every thing in the game for £30 which isn't too bad. It is fun for about 10 mins then it gets quite boring. I am not sure if i like it enough to continue, give it a go for your self, maybe drop me a comment telling me what you think!

Thank you for reading and join me next time for another great adventure :)

Kaos Joker's Adventure on: Planetary Annihilation

A game of epic proportions were commanders fight for control of  planets in a solar system sized strategy game. This game is currently in "Gamma" stage (basically beta) and just keeps on getting better.

This game was made by the same people who made Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander: Forge Alliances. The game may as-well be Supreme Commander 3 as it plays just like the other games.

You start with a commander and must build Metal (Mass in Supreme Commander) extractors and energy plants to form the foundation of your economy. From there you build unit production buildings choosing from Land, Air, Sea or Bot (land units that are robots instead of tanks). The facilities can build basic units and constructor units. These constructors can build advanced factories of the basic one they came from, so a sea constructor can not build an advanced air factory. These advanced factories can build better units and advanced constructors. Unfortunately the is only basic and advanced at the moment, were as the Supreme Commander games had 3 tiers of units and experimental super units. But this is no way worse only having 2 tiers.

7BE35D4AC5DCFBF48FCE2D33CBAF6010E083DB94 (1768×992)

The main attraction of the game is the planet smashing feature and the separate planets. You can use your advanced constructors to build orbital launchers. From here you can send a orbital constructor and orbital transports into space.

232A89957EF645028BEFC0F65124C68BB049736A (1768×992)

From here you can construct orbital defenses, factories and satellites. Or you can use the transport to move units to another planet. Once on the other planet you can build and link 2 warp gates and send more units quicker. If you land on a moon you can build Haley engines which fire the moon into the selected planet.

52287CB55EEC18C9540370257AAA97FCB333CC4A (1768×992)

There isn't much variety when it come to army selection. You can only choose what commander you want and a colour for your force, there isn't different factions or races. Also some of the commanders you have to buy which is kind of strange, why not have them all available from the start?

The multi-player can be very fun when played with friends. It is actually easier to play against other players then the AI as they seem to be always on the hardest difficulty. The planet smashing can get annoying if you have built this amazing base and then you loose in one fowl swoop. But it is fun making game mode with your mates like king of the hill or moon wars.

Kaos Joker's Adventure on: FTL

4352EA09A9159EAAD7139CBA2E914139DC5BB886 (1768×992)

FTL is a very unique game. You are flying a ship away from a rebel armada chasing you to stop you from telling the federation they are coming. You jump from point to point on a map to get to the end and jump to the next sector. Each point you jump to, you run into a random encounter which can be any thing from traders needing help fight off pirates or a Diplomat giving you a new space ship to use in the next campaign.

5BEC04DDFA22404FAC4A6DAFD20FCD9BBE6BF354 (1768×992)

When you jump to a new point, you see your ship can are presented with a random event of are able to access a store to buy stuff for your ship.

84F643B65C7C590CFE029AE7630F7B46DB961D70 (1768×992)

When controlling your ship, you move the little crew men walking around. They can be assigned to different roles to change the effectiveness of the ships systems. If you place them on the shields, they recharge quicker for example.

The ship can be upgraded with new systems and weapons bought from the shop or you can upgrade the effectiveness of the the ships current systems by giving it more shields, a bigger power core ect...

43B66BD20FB59289100FFC560292B9CC4E8F1595 (1768×992)

The combat is done in real time. Your weapons charge and then you choose a room in the enemy ship to fire into. You get drones to help you fight and you can also send crew members into the enemy ship to sabotage the enemy systems.

The game is very addicting but can also be insanely frustrating. The last mission requires an amazing ship and a ton of game knowledge to defeat the boss. You must defeat the boss to get the next ship to play it all again with the new ship. As I said before, you can be lucky and get the ships through random encounters.

2CAEE800188772CFF3582884C50F95F863431778 (1768×992)

As annoying as the game is, its insanely fun to play (apart from loosing your awesome ship to an enemy that has one too many shields for you to handle.) It has brought me hours of enjoyment and I usually do 2-3 sessions every time i play because loosing once isn't enough! I bought it in the sale and I recommend waiting for a sale to get this game.

Kaos Joker’s Adventure on: Endless Space: Gold Edition

Endless Space is a turn based strategy were the you control an empire in a fight to control space and the precious resource, Dust.

FCF522D87D4B5620AD496EAE317564903D6E76D7 (1768×992)

The game map is a top down view of space with stars out lined and named along with warp jump paths to show travel routes between the different stars. The main goal of the game is to achieve a dominate victory in science, diplomacy or military.

You choose a faction from the selection and start with a home system. From there you can build extra ships and colonise other systems. You can research new tech to build better ships, colonise new types of planet and unlock planet improvements. When you capture a system, you can build on each planet you have colonised and different constructions provide a different resource to the systems resource income pool.

419B6DFF049ECCFCB5DB342C156F5AD850733709 (1768×992)

The combat in the game is all automatic, which can get very boring some times to watch. You pick 3 strategy cards to use, one for the long rage stage, one for the mid range stage and one for the melee stage. These cards can determine the out come of the battle. You can customise you ships and later add bomber hangers and planetary nukes and much more. The combat scenes look amazing graphic wise and as boring as they are, they are sometime really nice to watch.

3F8481D1409794F17B633601BC6E240F752ABBBD (1768×992)

The problem i have with the game is once you hit the stage were you have a good set of fleets and a stable economy, you cant loose and there is much to do other then tediously take over every system until the game ends with you the victor.

The game is very fun to play (until you hit the unstoppable stage) and there are 8 or so factions with different ships and tech, so its nice to see all the ships and tech. But I would say the game has a low re-playability factor.

The multi play is fun for a while until you fight your mate and you are both insanely powerful, making the game drag on for much longer then it should which is never good with a turn based strategy. If you were to buy it, get it on sale.

Kaos Joker’s Adventure on: Nosgoth Closed Beta

Nosgoth is set in a world in chaos, torn in two by the humans and the vampires. In Nosgoth, you take the role of a elite hunter trained to kill the most fearsome of vampires or one of the feared creatures of the night, a vampire. The game pits two teams of players against each other on a large arena map. The game may be visually brilliant but it is slightly unbalanced. But keep in mind, this is a BETA!! and these are just experiences i have had personally.

Currently there are 4 classes you can play from the start, two for each faction and a further 2 for each faction can be unlocked or bought, making a total of 4 class for each. It seems from what i played the vampires are very independent, they can go off and do their own thing, but the humans need to stick together and must work as a team to fight off the vampires. The Humans carry medieval fantasy ranged weapons (crossbows, bow and arrow, flintlocks and a grenade launch that fires potion bottles) which would make you think they would have the advantage. Wrong! The vampires can free run, one can fly and some can turn invisible.

C4B90C680167B68318F70EF26D92627FE4634373 (1366×768)

The Hunters have only won 1 out of the 7 or so games i have played and it seems the Vampires are a little over powered, considering there is a class that can fly up to a hunter, pick him up, and fly off and drop him, killing with the fall damage and there is nothing you can do to stop it. But there is obviously work that still needs to go into the game so hopefully things like this should be sorted on release.

There is a market in game much like the Dota 2 market and it looks like the game will use the steam market place like TF2, Dota 2... which suggest maybe more classes or a lot more items are on the way.

6C5734081511A75F805AD1B283266341EDEB440A (1366×768)

The game looks really nice and the character animations are also well done. The vampire free running has room for improvement but it would also be fine if it was left as it was.

The main reason this game interests me so much is the fact the two teams are, in a way, playing two separate games. For the Humans its a third person shooter were as for the Vampires, its more of a hack and slash. Since only the vampires can free run, its a totally different set of tactics and a whole new play style when you switch from one side to the other.

6C21D69189D390CCAEB587680A378EE0F21BD1AF (1366×768)

At the moment the game is in closed beta, so if you want to play, you need a good mate or fork out some cash to buy into it. The game will be free to play on release and any one who buys into the beta gets some nice goodies. The beta is pay to win at the moment as you can just buy the other 4 classes instead of unlocking them and you can buy better weapons for the hunters. I recommend you try it before you say no to it.

Kaos Joker’s Adventure on: Dynasty Warriors 8: Extreme Ledgends (The Complete edition)

Dynasty Warriors, a game were you play as an over the top Chinese historical figure and take on an army of hundreds of enemies in over the top Japanese style anime combat. The game is a third person hack and slash set in china. As i said, you take the role of a Chinese warrior and help take over china, please the Emperor or just kill a massive army, all depending on the game mode you choose to play.

85BC8C18676FEFA458F0DCC996418EF26E105746 (1280×768)

There are a ton of characters to choose from with over 1200 different weapons with randomly generated abilities, so no two plays will have all the same weapon. The is also six rather long campaigns were you aid one of the great clans to take over china, a free mode were you can play older missions or play completely random mission just for the hell of it and also a Ambition mode were you must win missions to upgrade yourt village to attract the atention of the emperor and win him to your side. With so much to do, this game can last much longer then most others.

07A46156BA7EABBCAC90FB31B984CBEDAF285F66 (1280×768)

The one main problem i have with the game is the controls. It is obviously a game built for a console, not a PC, but being a fan of Dynasty Warriors and now a pure PC gamer, i have missed this game so much. I must say i am disappointed with the controls. When not played with a controller, the game uses purely the key board, meaning wasd to move and the arrow keys to look around not to mention all of the attack keys, calling your horse, commanding your generals are all awkward keys. Now if you get a controller, ity makes it much better but only after you rebind every thing.

Another problem i could see is the way the missions seem to be the same over and over again. You spawn, run into a crowd and kill them, fight the boss or run away and go into the next mission to do the same again. But saying that i don't mind doing it. Not sure why as im the kind of person who only completes games once. There just seems to be something that makes me want to play more and there is nothing more satisfying then hitting a 1000 k.o.count.

43BCBDA55F9FD6726692537360A40AA390FDFECB (1280×768)

After the controls are sorted, the game becomes enjoyable again. Especially with all the new features in this game. For example you now give any weapon to any character, meaning you can play that guy who looks awesome wielding your favorite weapon. You can also have pets now that follow you and do things like scare off enemies or regenerate your health.

86B28A56DD436050DB01FBCC66109DAC48DE3B49 (1280×768)

The game looks beautiful (my screen shots don't help as i run it on lowest for maximum smoothness). Ok some of the textured i could of done better to be hounest but when your swinging a giant man sized sword, your not looking at the average texture on the foot soldiers. The playable character textures are very nice and the environments are very nice considering the scale of the game and the amount of maps.

They have added a Lu Bu campaign for those Dynasty Warrior fans who want to play as the hardest man ever to exist and his hot daughter, which follows Lu Bu around china as he searches for a place to call his own while cutting down any one in his way, even his own dad!

ADC9FFC2844226FC113743AEBA1F47E129B7F943 (1280×768)

Apart from some of the characters looking terrible and the awkwardness of the controls, i love this game. I bought it at full price on release for £30 and I haven't regretted it for a second. I must say though, if you are not a fan of hack and slash games or repeating missions over and over again, then this isn't the game for you. This game was more intended to please fans (well that's how it seems) of the Dynasty Warrior franchise.

Kaos Joker’s Adventure on: Skullgirls

Skullgirls is a side on uniquely styled fighter. It uses a mixed anime cartoon style with a jazz twist to create a 1920’s mash of cutie creatures and murderous gang mobsters. The game is best matched with a controller or a fight stick but this doesn't hold back the game. The stories are in depth and creatively develop the world. The more you play, the more you learn.

The controls for the game follow the standard side on fighter with combos to beat the living day lights out of the opponent. With a controller, the game is a lot smoother but can also lead to button mashing a lot of the time. But this isn’t a bad thing when the story has you so gripped you just want to kill this sexy nurse as soon as possible to see what happens next.

The characters have detailed back stories and are beautifully illustrated. As new characters are released, they are given away for free for a short time. Once the next is out they become pay for DLC for anyone who didn’t get a chance to pick them up during the free period. Sometimes they patch in a new character as a secret special character.

As dark as some of the stories may be, the cut scenes are very well presented as a slide show of images and text. This gives the game a comic feel as you look through each slide. Once the campaign for each character is complete you unlock a large selecting of concept art and the panels from the cut scenes to browse through.

In these screen shots i am playing through the story of a girl call Squigly, one of the DLC characters and my personal favorite. This next image is taken from one of her cut scenes. But you will have to play to find out what it means :P

The whole style of th intro to each fight, the main menu and other small features make you feel like you are watching a movie. There are movie reels every were and the sounds the game makes on selection screens is like a project, clicking as it moves to the next slide.

The games over all visual style is very unique and it puts that extra little touch of WOW! to the game.

Considering every thing, the game is really well made. Some characters are much harder to use then others and the controls are a little hard to grasp at the start but the tutorial helps (for those who still play them) and you will be mashing out your favorite combos in no time. As hard as i try i can not seem to muster a true negative for this game an the steam price of 11.99 i think is well worth every penny.
